![]() ![]() It's a huge community investigation that claims that certain members of the Remnant Fleet Discord server (a Titanfall community group that are associated with ) were leading "coordinated attacks" on Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Apex Legends. To start with, the people who run the website denied involvement in the Apex hack, and last week released a lengthy document and a folder of evidence implicating a number of hackers that are involved in all this drama (including screenshots of Discord messages, emails, texts, Twitter threads and more). At the time, it seemed a separate group of hackers were just trying to bring more attention to Titanfall's woes, but it somehow turned out to be a lot more complicated than that. "TF1 is being attacked so is Apex," read a little message on screen. As reported by Apex Legends News, on July 4th, hackers managed to advertise the site "" on a playlist in the lobby in Apex Legends. Well, for some fans, help wasn't coming soon enough. ![]() In May, Titanfall 2 suffered similarly, causing a number of players and streamers to voice their concerns online, and Respawn told them "help is coming". It turns out the very same group behind the Apex attack are allegedly the cause of Titanfall's issues too, and it's apparently all part of a messy plot to revive the cancelled spin-off, Titanfall Online.įor context, the original Titanfall has had trouble on PC for years with hackers and ongoing DDOS attacks. At first glance, it would seem the folks participating in the Apex hack were the good guys who only turned to hacking to trying to raise awareness of their troubles. Both Titanfall games, over the last few months especially, have suffered hacks and DDOS attacks leaving them in a bit of a state. It’s easy to sympathize with the frustrated Titanfall player or players behind the DDoS, but ruining the weekend for many others isn’t going to help the situation - especially given that Respawn has bigger fish to fry.Last month, hackers took over Apex Legends for a brief period of time to supposedly encourage the developers at Respawn Entertainment to "save" Titanfall. Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn and publisher for Titanfall 1 are aware of the situation, with countless reports to their client support and forums over the years,” it continues. Even when the developers have been directly contacted, as soon as the topic of the Titanfall 1 problem is brought up, they stop replying. “Respawn, the developers, have been contacted about this matter numerous times in many ways. To this day, Titanfall 1 is still on sale on Origin, and more recently Steam, even though it is unplayable,” reads the site. This issue has been happening for years and Respawn is willingly pretending that they do not know about the situation. ![]() “ Titanfall 1 is currently unplayable on PC due to hacker(s) using exploits that prevent players from being able to play the game. The hacker behind the Apex Legends DDoS pointed users to, which seems to act as a sort of manifesto. Basically, hackers have found a way to prevent players from connecting to servers at all. The first Titanfall game has seen its player base rapidly dwindle, and hackers preventing server functionality have made it impossible for many to enjoy the game. Given the hacker’s feelings of frustration and drastic actions, Apex Legends players might assume the Titanfall situation is dire - and they’d be right. ![]()
